Debbie proves that to be an author you must experience life. She has parachuted; wing-walked; flown in airshows; authored embassy newsletters & a Sunday newspaper column; visited Camp David; won a Silver Addy, written Top Secret technical crap; lifeguarded; produced air shows; and lunched/spent a day/ or talked with four presidents, Colonel Sanders, Jeff Foxworthy, Bob Hope, Davy Jones, Nicholas Sparks, Cheryl Crow, and Clint Eastwood – to name a few.
She kayaks, hikes, bikes, skis, gardens, and struggles with the art of juggling (balls).

- I’ve jumped out of an airplane 3 times (with a parachute).
- I’m an expert in fitted-sheet folding; everyone has a talent.
- My Indian name is “Little Whirlwind.”
- I played the clarinet in the high school concert band.
- Davy Jones & I spent a day at his horse stall. He sang a song to me. My life is complete.
- I sometimes twirl a fire baton.
- I was married to a US Marine 30 years and moved 42 times.
- I’ve been interviewed on TV and radio 72 times.
- I’ve been to Camp David twice.
- I planned & pulled-off an international gala ball in the Eiffel Tower.
- I have 3 sons and 9 grandchildren (so far).
- I once could do back walkovers on a balance beam. Now I can walk.
- I call my bathroom The Jim. I go to The Jim every morning!
- I am living proof that obsessively writing 14 hours a day makes you fat.
- I love my truck.
